To be honest, I wouldn't want Rex to be some ultra wordy overly complex writer. We have enough of those. Battle rap lacks diversity in style. That's why I rock with Eazy.
I hear you...I'm not saying Rex should imitate Nitewing or sumn...but try to incorporate a little bit of today's style. That "simple" early 2000s mixtapes style works for those who know how to work it and still sound current...like an Eazy. But for the Cassidy's and Rex's and them that jawn obviously ain't working, it sounds weak. 15 years ago it would sound fire.
