I put this on because of this, Mickey is usually good for some Battle Rap shyt

The one thing i hate about Math is the same thing about Budden, they both play these hating ass characters against certain people. How do you argue against Surf and Hitman for the 2010-2020 period, and even worse, how the fukk do you argue using Danny Myers? The shows are nice but sometimes you see who they don't like, and they act really bytchlike towards em. Tried to argue that surf was gone for 5 years and they had to go down the line damn near battle for battle putting Math in his place.

If there's one dude to not argue battle rap with imo, its Mickey. Dude's really a historian on the culture

I think a puncher relies on pure punchlines to win (and usually throws a million out there, where after the battle about 5-6 of em stick for good), and the writers can punch, rap, scheme, tell stories, argue points, breakdown better in an all-around fashion. I just watched Rum vs Chilla two nights ago (classic), but if you watch that and especially Chilla's 3rd round I think you can see the difference.

Someone who i think has a decent pen while never being looked at as the coldest is T-Top. Dude can do it all against anyone

Math will create dumb ass arguments

The whole URL vs KOTD argument on the Hennyman episode was a joke. Him and Misfit were acting oblivious when Hennyman was explaining why he only covers the URL and RBE events. Math was like how is KOTD a white league?

He definitely hates on the URL and certain battlers a lot.

What's the difference between a puncher and a pure writer? I mean best writer just comes down to bars right?
There's different aspects to being a great writer. Imagery, wordplay, punchlines, metaphors, multi-syllables, story telling, schemes, etc.

You don't have to do ALL of them but you have to be great at multiple of them to be a great writer imo. Nitty is elite at the first three. Danny is okay at the first six. Both could qualify, imo, as "writers" but Nitty would rank much higher than Danny to me, because he's actually elite at multiple forms of writing, while Danny really isn't great at any of them, but proficient at probably all.

But someone that's a pure puncher like B Magic or Ty Law or Ave cannot be in the "Writer" category because they don't possess enough traits to qualify.

Listening to the Mickey Facts episode of my expert opinion. Math sounds stupid trying to put himself as the “guy” of the 2010s. The people don’t think he’s dope enough or have enough star power to be that guy.

Mickey was right, the people pretty much gravitated to Surf and Hitman. If K Shine would have started out stronger, he’d be right there.

They weren’t necessarily talking about the best battler of the decade, but the guy the fans gravitated to.
Any time Surf name gets mentioned, Math's jealousy rises and the hate starts lol. See it with Lux sometimes too.

JC Top 5 pens (besides himself): Chilla, Lux, QP, Diz, Illmac (No order)

Says Danny and Rum are on the cusp but he think they're more punchers than pure writers. Same for Twork.

Surprised he doesn't mention Daylyt.

How'd he stick around outside of Shaq backing?

Entertaining and a pretty consistent gatekeeper now, new dudes aint just walkin through suge

Once he stopped choking he basically became a believable/physical DNA with gun bars

Always fun seeing nikkas get pushed around and he doesnt get mad when people do it back to him

Math doesn't get the same level of respect the other DVD/Freestyle era battlers get when they are referenced as legends (Lux, Mook, Rex, Iron, Diz, Hollow etc). And has been surpassed by the early URL guys like Surf, Verb, Hitman who came after him. So when Math complains/hates you know he feels a certain type of way regarding his status as he is always left out in the conversation of battle rap greats/best.

While battle raps foundation is the bars, it's the battlers with charismatic performance/energy that get the most love from the audience.

I just don’t think his style appeals to a broad audience. Someone is going to quote me and say “well I live here and people say Math is dope blah blah blah.” That’s great I’m not gonna argue back and forth about it.

Even though Math has battled around the world and all platforms, I just don’t think his style has a large appeal. Everyone that I’ve come across in real life, that casually watch battle rap here, thinks he’s garbage. He’s had too many dope rounds to just be garbage. I can’t front I thought he was wack for years so I get it.

This goes both ways though. You got Midwest guys that I don’t think the east coast fukks with. It happens
