The thing with surf is, I get why he has the support. Back when battle rap was 1st getting off the ground in the smack url days when it was only a couple hundred in the room surf was very active among the fans. He would respond to anyone on Twitter I might still have a few exchanges with him from 10 years ago. He did what he had to, to get the support he gets
But damn, can we be honest about what he is on that stage? I watch guys who come with 3 rounds prepared in nearly all they battles get destroyed by fans for likeability and believability but then surf hasn't had 3 strong rounds in years and gets hailed as top of the hill?
Maybe I'm a different kind of fan because when I first heard the hype about him....I was like oh damn, he must be that nice. I see his battles and I already could point out a few flaws. In the X-Factor battle for example, I felt he was straining his voice too much and his breathe control in the 1st is cool but as soon as the 2nd and 3rd come up, he seems to lose it a little. To a degree, I felt like he was the same way in the Tay Roc battle. I get what happened in the Big T battle, he just got out and it was a crazy situation but his writing for that was meh to me. Same with the Clips battle. And that 2 round bullshyt he has done with Rum, Shotgun (over a water bottle yeah I know), and T-Top won't cut it either. Against Shine it was meh...I felt like Shine got him good with that 1st round. Now he's done good against Conceited, Hitman, Brixx, Geechi, and Reed but to me its not enough for the special treatment. And he talks way too crazy about people we know he won't ever battle which is corny to me.
