Smack and Beasley seem out of touch.
They need to hire some people who are familiar with the culture of battle rap, tech savvy, knowledgeable marketers, etc.
Because the shyt they doing now ain’t working. It’s all over the place.
If they have such a problem with Youtube and monetization, then they should contract some people to build a SMACK/URLTV website for them that streams the battles on there.
Get some advertisers that agree with the content who’d be willing to have their ads posted on the site. Monetize their videos with those ads.
Certain battles that get released on the app (big stage battles, elite matchups, etc) should only be exclusive to app users for like a couple of weeks before they get put on the SMACK/URLTV streaming site (accessible to all users).
They also need to get someone to upgrade the app so certain functions won’t be so wonky (fast forwarding, rewinding, being able to listen without having the app/video on the screen).
