Mike P, Danny Myers (if he wasn't ducking him), Ave....

These guys are always 100% prepared. He could even reach out to Mickey Factz.

DNA sounds good but he said that he wasn't preparing ahead of time until the Mickey Factz battle.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Especially Danny because I feel like he studies so many people's styles whether he is battling them or not and his prep seems to be on point. My only gripe with Danny is that I wish when he takes shots at others in freetyles or whatnot, he doesn't save certain bars for the battles. Because they'll be dope ass lines I would hope he would save for later. Mike P would be good but I feel like Mike preps in a way that is very careful and slow. So Twork would need to lock in a battle and focus months before for real like Mike does. Ave would be nice but every once in a while I feel like Ave goes to fast in his battles with delivery and it works for him but not for everyone else. So I can see him prepping way before because of his vocal inflection and flow.

Loaded Hollows I think would be good. You get Hollow who is crazy with rebuttals and penmanship and Lux who crafts quotables and gives a top notch performance.

DNA could help him on a few things but I dont think overall he is the right person for everything prep wise. Help with rebuttals and freestyles, definitely. Short notice battles? Sure. Overall, I feel like DNA might not be the best candidate. I could see Mickey maybe offering a little insight as well.

LOL He can reach out to Cassidy. The nygga is done 3 months before the battle with 10 minute rounds.

I'm just playing, not a good example. The old guys (Cass, Mook, Lux) are from an era where you needed to have a million raps in your heads. Those guys can rap forever. Newer guys aren't really conditioned like that.

The reason a guy like DNA can help, is because he can relate. He's definitely a guy that knows the benefits of early preparation. Hell, DNA is actually dope when he prepares early.

Cool to see Surf and Arsonal hanging out with Chris Brown on Chris' IG story. A lot of eyes on thee culture, nikkas need to start putting money in it.

Not that I disagree but Eminem tried to take this shyt to new heights with Total Slaughter and the Bodied movie. But it's apparent that people don't support the culture enough to make it happen. It's not all the fans fault but also the way these events get handled.

:mjlol:

Those "white washed" products do nothing for the culture.

The fact that you brought up Eminem just disgusts me. We are talking about a guy that prefers a grindtime/kotd style of battling.

DNA has been washed for years to me but agree he would be an awesome mentor to the likes of a Twork or any young battle rapper

Really?

I think he's better now. If the dude really comes prepared like he did against Big Kannon & Mickey Factz, I think he's dope.

I never really had a problem with DNA like that. John John was always the guy for me that I couldn't stand. However, with these newer guys like Loso, they even make John John sound good.

Stopped reading at "Total Slaughter" :mjlol: :russ: man that shyt ain't what we're into, of course the culture didn't support it. same with that trash Bodied movie. It's not an accurate representation of what we're into.

I don't know, man. I never thought DNA was wack but sometimes he has that one-trick pony thing to what he does and sometimes, its just bored me. Or it might be something else with the politics he has done I wasn't the biggest fan of but thats another issue. But agree, his early prep is good. Just sometimes, he can be very hit or miss in battles.

Total Slaughter was a come up for Slaughterhouse/Shady Records...or an attempt to one at least; that just ended up looking crazy whenever it comes up. Bodied was really geared towards a mix of that KOTD and Grind Time kinda shyt tho but at least they got a lot of the people who helped build the culture involved in the movie. Em backed them both in some fashion but I prefer Bodied over Total Slaughter.

Nothing but cash grabs.

The beauty of battle rap is making it look Hollywood does not work. You can’t just come in, polish it up CAC style, and expect results.

I think someone like Diddy gets it. I’m still surprised Smack has never been on revolt.

Bodied was already done. All em did was attach his name to it. I don’t think the poster is educated on any of this. He’s acting as if Em really got involved to really push battle rap.

Yeah, the battle rap we watch feels more like a bloodsport and has that street feel that you can't really replicate. You remove that feel and you have those corny epic battle rap in history shyts you see on youtube :mjlol:

like I said sometime before, a movie about modern battle rap should be based on someone like Chess

Damn TODD is also an obvious answer to Twork's call. But he just doesn't stick in my mind, no matter what he does.
