Why? I'm all about supporting, but if there's no PPV, what are you really buying? Is Smack going to finally release the dozens (hundreds:yeshrug:) of battles he's holding? What if they're on RNT despite the app?
I’ve been getting free battles for years. I’m supporting the culture regardless. Ive purchased PPVs that I don’t have to just to support. This culture isn’t going to grow unless we do our part as fans imo. That’s how I see it

Allegedly, PPV is separate, so at best, it's getting the WWE Network treatment. Find someone's account to use, or order a month when needed, and cancel rest of the year. Can't even imagine how often I would, maybe if there was a must see battle, and the rest of the card was trash? I would rather it be 10 to 15 and include PPV. Still wonder how battlers will approach the new revenue stream? If I was anyone popular, we'd have to renegotiate.
Or they should at least give discounts on PPV if you subscribe.

I doubt many people would purchase it at say a $15. They're sounding like they're gonna be more regular with dropping their battles on the app and folks wouldnt have to wait ages like before. If they included PPV, it would probably not be worth it for them especially after what they invested in the app and they'd probably get more money charging for the PPVs how they do now.

I never thought they were gonna include PPV though so :yeshrug:.

I mean that’s what he’s promising. If he’s lying then yea I agree but the whole point of the app in his own words is “instant gratification” so yea I’m assuming he’s mass dropping the tons of battles he’s been holding on to

With that said bootlegs are gonna by be alit more common now

I mostly agree, but no matter how much I love the culture, and supporting black business, I won't spend on a shoddy product. I hope the shyt is great though. I want URL and the battlers to win.

I would. The year is half done, and I've spent 125 with URL (Vol. 4, Resolution, NOME 9 on the $35 special) :francis:.

Not spending like I do and buying an app unless it's some otherworldly value, but I don't see how that's possible without PPV.

Also, if you think RNT will suddenly cease to exist with the app, I have a wonderful business opportunity to share with you:troll:

Youtube ain't payin Smack shyt what you expect him to do. URL prolly makes 3k a year off ad revenue ( if that cause he prolly gets demonetized for swears anyway), most his money is from PPVs and door sales now.

Any smart business would try to monetize the main product I can't fault him. I watch battles a lot so I'm ok with 8 bucks a month.

Again, I mostly agree, I just think it should mirror the WWE Network model. This appears to be double dipping, I think he even said they will still put stuff on YT, so where is the value, unless he drops a lot? Then, where is the motivation to keep paying, instead of paying a month, binging, then canceling?

I hear you, I'll have to see how he implements in.

In theory I have no problem with the overall concept of it though.

They should definitely make sure the app is super secure and do all types of tests. If they release it before NOME, they should still stick to NOME being on watchbattlelive to minimize any fukkery. I definitely think they should charge a lot less for PPVs (50% off would be dope) if you subscribe on the app. I honestly think RNT as far as battles dropping on the app would be minimized. If that makes me a fool, so be it lol.

Agrred on everything except RNT. I can't see them magically becoming punctual out of nowhere. Fans have been complaining FOREVER, and zero change.

i love the move in part because i feel like with a significant subscriber base there's less excuse for them not to be able to fund big name battles, however many are left. that should be a healthy monthly income that wasn't there before.
