Surf made a name having quotables in battles he lost most of.
Yet his shyt talk is on such a high level that a nikka like Cortez is considered under him to the masses.

He blatantly stole his signature move from Con but somehow he did it in a way that made the fans not bash him for it like they are getting at ShowOff

Looking at all those thing you just gotta :salute: Surf for bein able to do it

Amazing how much a name a nikka can make for himself in the absence of having bars.

Daylyte explaination of why west coast battle rap will never pop off. @theflyest

I can't say I disagree with him brother Dutchie.

I have another reason to throw in there, something a west coast nygga will never admit. Westcoast battle rappers view themselves as being just as good as eastcoast/midwest battle rappers & they aren't.The westcoast (street style) doesn't really produce the volume of battlers/battles to ever gain a big fanbase.

How can you even build a following for street style west coast battlerap when you can't even put together 8-10 solid guys to build a league? They can't even put together a spitdatheat style league.

"Real west cost street nikkas don't care for battle rap and guns lines because they really out there shootn people..." - Daylyt

Daylyt is saying this as if the westcoast had an URL style league & it failed.

I'm not saying he is wrong, but he has to acknowledge that the westcoast doesn't give these "street nyggas" a reason to be fans or become inspired to pursue battle rap. One could argue if the westcoast actually produced talent at the level of the eastcoast/midwest, things could be different. It's just 4 nyggas. 2 of them (daylyt, bdot) influenced by lux. One of them sounds like a westcoast version of wgh.

"We can't have a event where nikka from piru and grape come."

The Ether event Daylyt.

i aint read Day's post but..

that Ether event was kinda hollywood breh, that "straight off the block" crowd was not in the buliding....prolly had mad security buzzin around there on top of that

if they had a SDH style event(actual block nikkas, minimal security, venue easily accessible, etc.)

1. nikkas would be bangin all through they rounds and in the crowd

2. that gang shyt so ignorant out there you wouldn't even be able to get nikkas to buy into the idea that "it's just battle rap", you gettin snuffed mid round every time... west coast nikkas can barely handle regular rappers makin gang references in club tracks, they damn sure can't handle three 4 minute rounds of gun bars and set trippin

Your making assumptions here. Your way off about Ether. A lot of gang members where in the building. Everything turned out okay. Posey's story about the event was extremely funny. He was heated because a lot of those nyggas don't watch battle rap & didn't even pay to get in. A lot of nyggas just came through not even caring about the battles.

The event in the bay turned out cool. Arsonal went home fine.

No one got killed at URL traffic that I know of.

Would you consider Westcoast Dread vs Danny a SDH style event? Don''t remember anyone getting killed.

Daylyt just needs a reason as to why the westcoast isn't poppin like he wants it to.

When I said SDH heat, I meant in terms of quality. There's plenty of low level street style battles that happen & everything ends fine.

Battles that turn out like this are in the minority

The Ether event did have gang members there from some of the recaps I remember. But I agree with you in the sense that affiliated battlers are very cautious about set tripping during battles because things can escalate too quickly.
I remember making note of how Dizaster put together all those controversial & offensive Halloween battles, but didn't dare have a gang v gang battle.
