Don't know about awthentic tho he one of them ones smack trying to push and I just don't see nothing special with him. Can battle rap forgive kyd slade so he can have that spot back? Not for nothing, but Mickey said his track that smoked Royce was just a warm-up and bait...he said the main joint was wayyyyy heavier and personal...but since he knocked him out with the jab he aint even need to unload on him, pause.

That Lux IG Story clip is a reminder how well Lux fills in bar spaces, making his raps sound smooth in acapella format.
One of my main gripes with post-golden era Battlerap crowds has always been their bad timed and forced disruptions in battles.
Lux, Verb, Big T and Yung Ill used to sound amazing with minimum interference of crowds interrupting the flow and smoothness of their raps.
This specifically is why they could thrive and be appreciated rappin outside of the 4-bar punch format.
Whereas over time, the current weird forced 4-bar reaction crowd started dominating the events.
Changing how battlers wrote and rapped to appease THEM.
WHEN ppl started valuing the amount of crowd reactions over the overall material, they forced battlers to change their punch placements and styles became more similar to satisfy that need/narrative.
Turning Battlerap into 4-bar PunchOut essentially.
If you go back to the Daylyt vs Roc Battle.
Even tho the behind the scenes crowd interrupted Daylyt at times..
You can hear how the removal of crowds strongly elevated the raps.
His style and raps thrived when spit as intended w/o disruptions.
(Roc knew Lyt was spazzin and tried to throw him off smh)

but whenever he speaks on the man, the hate is on full display.
In no world is Drake a better lyricist than Kendrick
Lupe the same nikka that said Logic is a better lyricist than Kendrick, but we supposed to believe him when he says “it’s no hate”

It’s simple, his hate is rooted in resentment from Kendrick getting the credit and love where he was denied on his come up.
(Accolades here and there aside)
That resentment was fueled when Lupe did Tetsuo & Youth,
the conceptual album you could play forwards and backwards.
Which was a GREAT album.
Only for Kendrick to imitate that concept Lupe did, with DAMN.
and getting the credits and love for it.
That’s the truth.
His resentment has justifiable points, but him refusing to speak on those valid points DIRECTLY and deflecting with other outrageous points makes it obvious he holds dishonest dialogue to deflect.
Which makes it hate by default, AT THIS POINT.
Even though he has very valid reasons underneath the hate.
Lupe refusing to adress it makes him look crazy whenever he speaks on Kendrick.
