Translation: We settled before Norbes made us open the books, so now that we have to spend our own money, you nikkas are assed out :mjpls:
Because he’s been around a long time. Cortez is like Udonis Haslem.
Watch any Latino fan or battler talk about him.

It’s kind of crazy how bad battle rap has fallen off.

You got ARP disinterested in battle rap.
The views on these YouTube drops are very underwhelming.
You got platforms and bloggers doing content outside of battle rap to bring views in.
You got many posters (myself included) that have lost interest.

Yes. He did not freestyle his battle vs Verse.

However he did a great rebuttal against him. Verse said during his round how his words connect and then Jin rebuttaled with he’s always saying

“He said words connect, Words connect like ten times”

^^^ This was a lot funnier when it happened.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

After all this time, there is still no agreed-upon way to judge a battle, so there are limited stakes. Combine this with redundant subject matter, carbon copy battlers, and marquee events falling flat (most respected).

I think we have used all the guns and sold all of the drugs at this point via bars. What's next? One of the reasons Daylyt v. Roc still goes viral randomly is because it was beyond what we were used to (and still is). I won't harp on the point of large versus small crowds, but this factors into replayability too.

This era of battle fans seems to enjoy the drama around battlers more than rapping. Beforehand, all we had were the raps, and the discourse primarily focused on talent.

The industry and battle rap are running parallel.

Battle rap needs new talent to thrive. The battle rap culture has always relied on the URL & QOTR to introduce and brand new talent. If those two leagues aren’t doing that, it affects all of battle rap.

QOTR hasn’t been a really active league in about 8 years. After NHB 1, it’s been downhill. Chrome 23 came into the game as a stale platform that just recycles lazy female talent. What a terrible way to come into battle rap. Female battle rap will remain stagnant until the url ever decides to completely step in.

On the men’s side, the URL introduces talent solely through the app now. If these guys aren’t going to get exposure through YouTube, Caffeine, etc how the hell can you build them up to get on the mainstream events like NOME & SM? :heh: You need stars to sell those events, yet they are avoiding the steps to go about creating stars.

It’s about to go back to when your battle rap heroes had a classic then had to run home and shower so they could start collecting them shopping carts at Walmart from 5-10 type shh. I heard a few of them predict this was gonna happen but I didn’t believe it, 🤦🏽‍♂️.

The app lowkey the worst thing that ever happened to the battle rappers. Maybe not the league who got a nice little deal but the actual rappers…apps killed the battle rap star . Eazy and a few others peeped game. Start incorporating beats more…stop just talking about creative ways to kill nigs…stop being on Spaces and overly accessible 24/7, etc… shh gotta drastically change to get this shh poppin and get new eyes and ears on it, imo

Lets be real though these new nikkas dont got the raw talent or nuances that the vets got. We can tell Shine from JC from Roc from Surf from Danny from Chilla etc.. These new nikkas are archetypal... App or not they wont get far. fukk YouTube MFs need Norbes. The last good bunch (JTN, Eazy, Your Honor. Swamp, Fonz, and Sikh to an extent) was the MFs from UM 1 (who been around for a while, and coincidently got some URL YT drops that put eyes on them).
