I agree the situations are different. I think it's a weak comparison. For me the difference in treatment is justified because Shine has a real history of violence, he's not just rapping.

Ultimately Rex apologized to the fans for cooler heads not prevailing. People paid their money to see Rex v Chess battle. I don't think Rex acted out of the norm, but that still doesn't make it acceptable.

But if you see what happened to Serius it's believable that Smack URL will make a calculated effort to snatch a nyggas dignity away for the sake of entertainment. There is no way Smack could ever look Serius Jones in his eye with respect. He probably never takes those shades off now. Serius groundwork with Fight Klub on MTV helped you make the living you make now. Serius brings problems on himself, but he never brought problems to battle rap. Why put him in such an unfavorable position? We've seen Geechi freestyle and clown the absolute shyt out of Eazy, he doesn't need your help.
Am I bugging? I used to just assume that these brothers DIDN'T want a shytshow but when it comes the stage they've gotten really comfortable with it. You add in everything else, and I just don't think they care so much about producing competitive battles anymore. When someone gets mauled there is more buzz about it. That's all I think they want.

Between fights, almost fights, choke jobs, Norbes lawsuit, top tier battlers like Eazy, Shine, Hollow, Verb publicly bashing the league, Caffeine no longer involved, Drake not rocking like that as of late (all things one could argue were within Smack & Beasley’s control)….Smack has probably given up all hope on URL being a professional product. And to your point, if the fukkery is just as profitable, if not more, he probably doesn’t care at this point.

He’s coming off as cheap, but it’s to his benefit to spend money on things that are essential like audio/video.

Yeah he’s gotta be I think. Especially if we’re only talking what they make through media and not potentially what they’re making in investments or whatever. Recently Hynken was talking about the numbers he saw with his own eyes and Math was making over 100K a month just off YouTube. That doesn’t even count Facebook and other platforms that pay out for content. If I had to guess Math is probably pulling in about 2 Ms a year. Not all of that is profit, but still, that’s great money. Another thing he has over them is it’s his own show, so his earning potential isn’t capped. Con and Hitman, as well as they get paid, still are employed.

Isn’t he asking for a ridiculously crazy amount of money too? I saw some clip recently where he said he was gonna come back a few months ago and everything was setup and ready but then Mook’s drunk, reckless ass spilled the beans early on Live and ruined it trying to impress some celebrity rapper he was talking to, I can’t remember who it was.

Brizz is fire tho, if he’s really serious about being in the NOI now and all that he probably doesn’t even need to be in or around battle rap anymore, . He don’t wanna battle but he wants to keep the love and attention he gets from being a battler…that’s how it seems
