I always remember Chess interview with HHIR and they were discussing Lux vs Geechi after the battle and Chess was saying how Lux kinda looked regular in the battle, but he said when Lux battles we expect some next level shyt

And then No Barrz chimed in and said "Same with Mook"

And Chess quickly retorted "No. Not the same with Mook. We look at Lux on a different level. We expect Mook to say some bullshyt. That be expectation"

That stood out to me, that some of them really don't look at Mook on that level.

Look at it like this.
When Mook and Lux were BOTH outside in the DVD era goin into the URL of era, it was Lux that struck FEAR in battlers.
There were hilarious examples back then of nikkas not wanting that smoke with Lux.
Conceited talking bout “needing a year off to write”
Cortez wide eyed like he saw a ghost talking bout “oh hell naah, not me”

There’s NOONE in Battlerap that was anywhere near as feared as Lux was back then.

Mook was never seen in THAT light, let alone penmanship.

Chess is a Pen nikka, ALL pen nikkas look at LUX as their endgame and the bar when it comes to lyricism.

I think this has to do with the lack of interest in Bigg K. RBE has guys like Bigg K and Ill Will that are solid B side guys, capable of beating anyone, and it just won’t do a damn thing for their status.

If Eazy would have beat Mook instead of Hitman on Chrome 23, his status would have still went up.

I listened to Bigg K talking about now his price goes up, but is the demand truly there?

Exactly. Lux is the Nas of this shyt :heh: Illmatic haunts Nas forever, so does Lux's battle with Calicoe, so we hold Lux to a higher standard than anyone else, which is understandable of course. Lux of course enjoys the benefits of having that kind of status (and claims that he deserves it) so he should try to live up to that too.

Come on breh.

Verb had a MUCH better status in the game prior to battling Mook than Bigg K did before he battled Mook. Verb was already looked at as an arguable Mt. Rushmore guy, while nobody ever even brought up a potential Mook vs K battle before ARP announced it. Bigg K wasnt recognized as an elite battler before this battle.

This is what I think it is too. In general nobody really cares about K to that level.

Mook been saying some dumb shyt since we saw him battle mills… he been known to be a retarded stupid ass dude. And this battle against k was cool but it ain’t shake the building so that’s why nobody talking about it…. Mook did better against tay roc… and big k was cool but it wasn’t enough to hold that dude any higher. Cmon now.
