Quick thoughts from Battle in the Bayou. Take all this with a grain of salt because I drank my body weight in Hennessey while I was there. Light spoilers.
1st battle was Slade and Big T. If the energy sounds off it's because it took forever to get Slade's mic right. I had Slade 3-0. Big T was not good to me but I guess because people were excited to see a legacy name in the NO for the 1st time, there was a lot of gas for him in the building. Slade had a crazy bar in the 2nd round referencing the shyt that came out about T recently that got a lot of crowd reaction but should have gotten more.
Me and everybody else in the building had Suge 3-0 vs Drugz. It was a perfect storm because it was the best Suge in a long time and the worst Drugz in a while. Drugz had some lines here and there but it wasn't enough.
Mike P vs Nunn Nunn was close even though Nunn Nunn did some A1 Louisiana pandering in the 1st round (I appreciated it tho
). Very debatable battle. Nunn rapped to a silk shirt in the 3rd round and it went nowhere. I had Mike 2-1 and I told him as such when he got off the stage and walked past me...which got me in an argument with the guy next to me who thought Nunn won
. See? Debatable.
I had Tink beating Jakkboy but this was easily the weakest battle of the night. Nothing special from either one of these guys unfortunately.
I had the Bardashians beating Shooneral but it was WAY closer than it should have been given that O'fficial was headlining in her hometown and people were ready to gas her and Jaz up. Shoutout to the NO for being fair and reacting to Shooney and Phara's bars and antics.
Random shyt:
Arsenal, Tay Roc, Surf, Swamp, DNA, Babs, and the Jesus guy from Clips vs Yoshi were there. Suge called out Easy during one of his rounds and Easy was up in the balcony laughing. Cool moment
it's crazy that Anwar was dapping people up in the line before the show knowing that Twork was gonna no show
While in line, I saw P scolding Drugz over the phone for missing his Lyft and not being at the venue on time
Didn't expect this but JB looks like he's 50 years old
