I understand the tone thing, they want the usual family experience with the kids laughing at some corny shyt.

but that light shyt doesnt work in settings like Gotham.
People remember movies like Dark Knight.. while shyt like Amazing Spiderman already forgotten, Avengers is hot for a week etc.

See this....

I dont get why people assume "light heartedness" or "comedy" equates to kidddy shyt or corny. There is a way to have humor and not be corny. There are R rated movies that are comedies and not corny. Hell people on several occasions in here made references to the DC Animated movies and there are scenes in those that are funny or humorous and didnt hurt the tone or make the movie corny and soft. I think if someone can properly executed it then it will work but acting like "oh no.... the moment DC injects some humor in the movies it's over" is wrong and rash.

The Dark Knight Rises was a decent effort. It wasn't mind blowing but I wasn't bored by it like I was BvS. Like I said I loved the action in BvS but the rest of the movie it felt like I was tolerating it to get to something interesting. If you aren't into the city destroying fights that were the style of Man of Steel then you won't even like the fighting.

People are trying to act like something deep or dope is going on here when it's all heavy-handed and simple and takes way too long to set up. There's almost no character development in the entire film. Maybe a tiny bit on Batman's part but his character pretty much turns on a dime.

If DC wasn't already so knee deep in pushing for JL I'd say they should scrap this whole cinematic universe and start over. Timm and Dini's animated universe was light years better than what's here.

I wonder how long these movies will continue to bring in money just off the character names when the quality of them is getting progressively worse.

This is like The Force Awakens again, just give it a month.

Rise was similarly overlong and strayed on the dull side at times, but I never found it painful to watch and sit through like this film :scust: Everything with Bane was engaging and the climax was very good. That's what this movie wasn't, "engaging". It only sort of got there at two points, the branding and hearing scene. If Lex was cast better it would have saved the film. As that was the only character that was given something to do.

Could have had a good, tight, focused two hour movie about "Batman vs Superman" instead we get a waste of an hour and a quarter about Batman vs Lex and his goons with a Senator mixed in, experiments and Lois chasing bullets :why:

Terrible villains can ruin a movie. One dude said people in the theater were afraid of lex :dead:

This really could've been a BvS, but we got a dope batman short film with some subpar Superman cameos and a shyt villain.

Can you imagine either one of these heroes giving comedic relief in one scene ...and then getting nuked to the bone bristle in the next scene..and its just a regular scene, and not a climax ?

Too contrasting.

The Weird Side
I have to disagree. Antman was better than this. Off top it was at minimum just as entertaining and it had a coherent and focused storyline which puts it above. If you don't think it was entertaining then that's another thing. But I believe it was. Every time BvS started getting good it would jump to another scene to try to half ass giving depth.

Crazy that a movie about antman was better than a movie starring batman and superman.
Maybe, but like i say its subjective and i just saw bvs, so maybe i shouldnt say its better than a film ive seen 10 times...but antman is not 50% better going by critics rating the movie.

Ummm.... yes..... if presented properly... comedy dont have to be full out "poopy jokes" or def comedy jam

This was a serious toned movie and this has its comical moments.

I'm sure stylistically they could execute this as well
