Delayed release in the UK and some of Europe didnt help. Only got released on Friday here.

I know it had a staggered release schedule but not sure of the details.
Just googled yeah not coming out in China until the 24th and did $105 million with the first movie so yeah you're probably right.

With some hindsight BP dropped a spot because it's action scenes don't hold up to WS/IW, like not even close. I go back to it for the story but not really the action.

it didn't open in Asian countries apparently. an article i saw the other day said it's probably a lock for $600 mil ww, but it really didn't make as much domestic as i expected. think it just passed $200. still, not to be an apologist, how many movies even make that domestic these days?

i will say though, it was a fun enjoyable movie, and i've forgotten everything about it already. i think i may have seen 3 movies this year that weren't instantly forgettable, Han Solo and Deadpool being 2 of the more forgettable
Ppl also need to be fair when it comes to box office expectations for true solo movies.
Civil War, Ragnorak, and Homecoming aren't traditional "solo" movies in the same way Antman, Doctor Strange, Dark World, and Winter Soldier are.
The three "teamup" solos grossed 800m+ apiece. None of the latter four "traditional" solos listed could break 700m world wide, except TWS (715m)

Technically, Antman and the Wasp is a Team-up movie.
I haven't watched it, but if its because of Wasp, then I think that's a bit different. It'd be like if Shuri got a suit and BP 2 was called "BP and Shuri". or if IM 2 was called "IM and War Machine" (more or less)
I'm talking more of a popular character (or multiple) from other franchises are coming in.
