at last months meeting (it was on Wednesday which is a "theme day", the theme was orange, do you know how hard it is to find orange pants ) there was a debate about whether to leave it at 3 hrs. there is just so much content and story they want to convey. dont be surprised if they make the directors cut public one day (rumored to be 4.5 hrs :SpideyWow: )

I didn’t even realize LOTR ran that long. I mean it felt long as hell sure, but worth every minute.

The Hateful 8 “roadhouse” cut that ran that long actually DID have an intermission, after that scene with Samuel L. telling that “story.” That was the perfect example of them giving us a “WTF?!?” before that little break.

I understand Grindhouse not getting an intermission. They wanted to bring back that old school experience, and plus for the uninitiated, they might not as been into watching the second joint if there was a break Plus those fake ass trailers before Death Proof.
