So...someone strong enough to take down a warship is on their way. They know Vegapunk, and I'm assuming they're not from Dragon's clique since they didn't mention any messages from anyone during all the Kuma tracking bits.
Who else could be down with Vegapunk enough to visit without worrying about the Marine designation?
I don't have any genuine guesses, but it'd be cool if another one of Roger's old crew popped up.

Good idea. They had that giant in the cut, so it’d work for him to be close by and help them get to elbaf too. I just wonder who from the fleet would have visited Vegapunk…maybe chinjao since he’s from that era.
It's gotta be a blackbeard pirate doesn't it? Wasn't there a cover story showing his jolly roger outside Egghead Island? If its not them, then I'm guessing it's Dragon. It's about time Luffy meets his dad.
Could be anybody, but the Grand Fleet is definitely overdue to do something.
Way back at the end of Dressrosa they were foreshadowed to do something important. Wano came and went, and they didn't show, so it seems like a good time. Would be anticlimactic if they didn't show up until the final war since everybody will probably be involved in that.

Yeah, I think they're the most obvious choice. Everything seems to fit for it. The only other options are kinda reaching. They need a few characteristics to fit:
- Not afraid of the marines.
- Willing to help civilians.
- Has enough forces or some unique abilities to help get the Strawhats out of that chaos.
- Has an excuse to be in the area and knows how to get to Egghead Island.
Cross Guild could technically work, I think. It'd be funny if the New MADS were on their way to rob Vegapunk and got stuck in a mess; plus, they have Germa forces to keep up with an opposing army...but it's hard to picture either group going out of their way to help civilians.
One of the old guard would work, but there's not much to foreshadow it. The only thing I could think is if that civilian ship were in Red Hair's protected territory before the Marines attacked it. Shanks protects weaklings after all, and bringing Luffy to Elbaf works.
But the Grand Fleet checks all the marks. They have the vivre card; they're a yonko force that would risk it all for Luffy; they're good enough characters to help civilians; and they've already been connected to some major historical incident by the narrator (who also mentioned Egghead being a worldshaking incident).
MADS gives me "Oda decided to mess with theorists" vibes. Shanks would be a cool twist. But the Grand Fleet is the Occam's Razor here, for sure.

That’s exactly the point, using them now ruins the payoff of them showing up at the final battle. Plus narratively it makes no sense, you have previous arcs where the other supernovas had an arc with the Straw Hats along with a a new group.
- Bege / Germa66
- Law / Grand Fleet / Minks / Samurai
- Kidd / Samurai / Whitebeard remnants
This is Bonney’s and the new group is the vegapunks. Having the GF to show up and bail makes Luffy and co look weak. Plus don’t forget what Luffy said to the Grand Fleet.

Have the GF stop a buster call while Luffy fights an admiral and a Gorosei does not make Luffy look weak. It cements the fact he really is a yonko and the world government needs to put respect on his name and stop acting like he is a punk kid.

They sent one of their best agents on a suicide mission to help get Kaido the W. They always knew he was a danger hence changing the name the Nika fruit so to not bring attention to Nika followers or the Will of D. They are fighting on multiple fronts between Blackbeard, The Revolution Army, Cross Guild, and the GOAT Big News Morgan.
So what’s the climax for the final battle?
Who was that one ship coming to egghead?
What about Weevil & his mom mentioning Egghead
What about Luffy saying I’ll call you if I need you?
What’s the point of that void century robot?
The big thing wasn't little dude fukking that Celestial Dragon up?
Pretty much everybody is going to be involved in the final battle.
There would be no point foreshadowing that since everybody already expects it. IMO they need to do something prior to the final battle.

I read a post on Reddit the other day say the Egghead Incident will be Luffy destroying the whole fleet by turning the island into rubber and bouncing back the cannon balls. One man destroying a Buster Call would certainly be something.Buster call doesn't seem like a threat anymore
