Rios looked like hot garbage out there...only thing he has going for him
is his iron chin....
his power at 147 is mediocre, his boxing skills are non existent, he relies on getting inside and bullying his opponent

Chaves got fukked over but he did it to himself, he couldve won the fight without any dirty tactics, granted the ref was a jackass but still, he was catching rios with straight rights and right uppercuts early in the fight at will....he couldve set himself up for more decent pay days (at least higher than the laughable 25k he got last night) but now i wouldnt be surprised if we dont see him on Hbo or showtime again...

smh @ hbo translator continuing to change the fighters words up

Exactly
All Chaves had to do what take a step back or to the side and counter Rios. shyt was simple as fukk. When he kept it at a distance he was sonning dude, but Rios to his credit, makes cats fight his fight.

Late to the party. See that we will have dedicated threads for fight night. :ohhh: Will be interesting on Mayweather, Pacquiao nights. :sas2:
Overall should keep the official thread moving with discussion and news more. :obama:

Thoughts on last night:

- Vargas-Novikov scoring was a joke. I had it a draw. Either guy could have one by a round or two and it would have been acceptable. But those scores. :pacspit: Either way, for a fight with a lot of punches it was pretty nondescript and boring.
- Kovalev-Caparello, I was looking forward to watching this fight and it was two rounds and felt like it never got going. The Kovalev KD was dramatic and brought questions, until it was clear his foot was stepped on and he lost balance. The first real punch sent Caparello down, killer body shot though...and he was done. Actually was surprised that since Kovalev placed his first attack right back at the body Caparello didn't crumple immediately. He looked seriously hurt.
- Rios-Chaves :snoop:. Even with the disappointing fight, you could see it had potential to be a great fight. Rios didn't want Chaves tagging him from the outside and bulled in. Chaves wanted nothing to do with Rios on the inside and held. These two just weren't made for each other. They both love to fight and will give you high action, but I think they just don't combine to fit together well.
Rios-Prov on the other hand. :whoo:
I actually had Rios up in the fight...see a lot of people had Chaves winning. The DQ kinda was a fitting result. Made the fight disappointing, but these two were more concerned blaming the other for being dirty and because they both wanted to engage offensively differently the fight never found a good groove. Didn't really want to see either guy win. Chaves didn't have the skills to take advantage of all Rios' weaknesses and Rios looks like pure struggle who only has toe to toe brawls left in him. Ref still sucked.

Was a disappointing night. I was looking forward to it and felt unsatisfied all around. :shaq2:
