Sometimes I feel like all these leagues have too many teams.

What the fukk is the point is having a team in Colorado if you’re just gonna prop up the Yankees and Dodgers every year anyway?

The NBA has to rig shyt so that the Lakers and Celtics don’t go too long without being relevant or else.

Maybe the NFL can’t quite rig shyt the same way for certain markets. But they push the media to blather on about the Cowboys even if they haven’t won shyt in 30 years.

If you’re just gonna rig shyt and push the same 4 teams in every sport, you don’t need 30 fukkin teams. But I get it. You’re all still making money no matter how much these teams suck.
... and then you have owners that will purposely buy teams in "small markets" like the Rockies and Marlins, so they never have to spend on players, fund stadiums through tax payer money, keep the payroll below a certain threshold just to guarantee themselves a $100M return every year, and MLB is like:

:yeshrug:

at that point I can't even blame the owners :mjlol:

IMO NBA and NFL don't have as much dead weight as MLB does.

Most popular NFL player? Patrick Mahomes and he plays in bumfukk KC and his team is the most popular in the league.

In the NBA OKC Thunder is a very popular team and they play in.... OKC. Nuggets is also very popular with casuals and they play in the same city as the Rockies. Spurs are very popular even though they play in SA, etc.

It seems like the big market/small market issue effect's MLB the most. There's so many hopeless teams in MLB.... Rockies....Reds.... Pirates.... Marlins...A's...., etc.

Sometimes small market teams do have success, but the casuals don't really care. The Diamondbacks upsetted the Dodgers in the NLDS in 2023 and made it to the WS that year, I don't think anybody who is not a Dback fan can name anyone off the 2023 team without looking it up on google :mjlol: 2023 WS also had really low ratings.

If you're a fan of one of those small market teams with a cheap owner the best you can hope for is for your GM to build a great farm system and all your prospects pan out to build a championship team. I think this is what pretty much what happened with the 2015 Royals.
