Yeah, he would have to walk. Do they have another potential QB as a back up. I’m familiar with their recruiting at QB.

Jake Merklinger in next on the depth chart and was rated decently coming out of HS but I'm not gonna pretend to know if he's ready or not to be QB1. Plus George McIntyre was rated pretty high as well. Nico still getting by off of his physical traits and HS rep, I think you could plug in alot of QBs and get the same team success/stats that he had last season.

I'm all for players getting paid, but what sport has 24/7 free agency even during the actual season where you can bounce at trade teams at any given point in time?
(I realize the portal isn't always open, but still, it's wild west).
A starting hooper or someone like a QB has insane leverage to, at any point, demand a raise and the program has to decide if they want to lose what is essentially the most important piece of their team.
