They did this at the Grammies too, the thing you're missing is why the last supper? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The fukk does this have to do with athletics? Why not have an image of these people embracing fitness. , it's not a bout free speech it's a ritual but nobody ever gets that cause we too busy worshiping motherfukkers who show up on a tv screen
Why the last supper ? And why not ?
On the real, it only looks like the last supper if you freeze the frame at a specific moment. Overall there was like 25 people on that side, not 13.

And the opening ceremony showcases the culture and history of the host country, not just athletics... They went a bit over the top IMO but there was nothing out of the ordinary yesterday.

Rugby 7s is low key entertaining as fukk. You can tell the U.S. would dominate if our NFL-caliber athletes trained for rugby in middle school or high school.

It's much more open-spaced compared to 15s, so speed and crisp passing can go a long way. Brehs like Tyreek, Micah, DK etc., would be damn near unstoppable (if they spent some years training for it). Peak Barry Sanders would be ridiculous.

15s is much more clogged up. Sport has to be in your national culture to win there.

The NBC app is the best way to take in the coverage. Over the air, you kinda get stuck watching the shyt THEY want you to watch. Miss a lot of cool events and sports.

Watching that live I didn't even think about the Jesus nor the Last Supper painting, it seemed more of a depiction of royal decadence, as a part of French revolution chapter...

BTW it was interesting that Marie Antoinette decapitation seemed accepted as a part of history, just other side of French revolution coin, same as the liberty and equality ideal...
Really interesting that a decapitation seems like a regular part of history for artistic inspiration...
Me as well, I only got the last supper thing this morning because really, the cam is zooming out so it's only a split second where you could think of the last supper.

Yeah the Marie-Antoinette thing is kind of mundane but it also plays into the anti-authority (against royalty, clergy etc.) of French leftist culture. It's like people just finding out about it.
