Funny enough UNC Basketball has been campaigning for more NIL, at a time when Bill Belichick is asking for a serious financial investment.
It also doesn’t help that UNC’s conference future could be ACC, B1G, or SEC. So no one can say for certain what revenue is in play.

Hubert was berating many of our biggest boosters at a fundraising event in the last few weeks for how far behind we are the other major programs. They want to build a billion-dollar Smith Center replacement when we can't even afford to splurge on a 15/10 big man.

Hoops is more important to UNC, but UNC football still generates more than 2x the revenue ($67M in 2023) that the hoops program does ($32M 2023).
