I meant the Caleb season, I remember clear as day CJ being the favorite heading into The Game that day. Then after that and the game Caleb had vs ND later that night he locked it up.
I thougth it was Caleb's to lose unless Stroud won that game and had 300 yards type of thing. But I honestly don't remember very well.

He was hurt in the K State game.

It's pissing me off trying to find his defensive game logs so I'll come back to it later but every time I've seen him play going back to last season it's clear he's the best player in the game.
I thought it was the the Arizona game he got hurt? And ofc they’ve played a lot of scrubs this year and last year didn’t they skip out on alot of teams outside of Oregon and USC?

How do you compare this season that Jeanty is having to the one that Adrian Peterson had as a freshman?

Not a trick question, Just genuinely want your opinion.
Not even close tbh lmao and that was a crazy year but Jeanty got 100+ more yards and 12 more touchdowns in 40 less carries and 2 less games

He may have got hurt in the arizona game and tried to play through it in the KSU game, I'd have to double check.

And what you mean skipped out on a lot of teams? Travis played FUCCK UP the whole year after that Colorado State game last season. He missed the Oregon and USC games but came back after that way sooner than he should have.

FTR I wanted Peterson to win it that year, but there's that QB bias and anti freshman bias (especially back then), and he was a true freshman.

Peterson had an insane year, but Jeanty has almost double to TDs AP had (15 to 27) with 1 regular season still to go.

The thing with Jeanty is, Boise probably wins like 5 or 6 games without him. He's been their entire offense.

Peterson was still on a team that was had a TON of talent, probably top 2 in the nation...remember, this is before OSU becoming a "death star," before Texas getting over the OU hump, Bama was losing to Auburn 4 straight years, UGA was Tenessee status, UF didn't have Urban yet, etc. USC, Miami, and OU were THE teams for talent around that time. OU was in the title game the previous season. So running behind that line, with that defense getting you more possessions, etc. helps out a lot.

Jeanty this year is how I felt Walker was at MSU, Bryce had gaudy stats on a loaded, undefeated team, but take Walker off MSU and MSU wins 4 or 5 games, which is exactly what happened the following year.

While I agree, it is pretty ass that IU has lost the only quality opponent on their schedule and will 100% be in they beat purdue, the literal worst team in the conference. Once in, they'll get a first round match up vs. Bama/Tenn/UGA/Texas and get absolutely smashed again.

I'm not buying anything IU football is selling besides having a really great year. They're not beating the top 5 teams of the SEC, they're not beating PSU, OSU or Oregon in the B1G either. Their biggest win was holding on for dear life vs. the worst michigan team since covid

I hear you but you can't lose to Vandy and OU and then talk schedule.

That’s what I mean he missed the actual top teams that year. Hes never faced truly elite competition

Yeah I guess a better comp from me would've been CMC or Bryce at Stanford and the years they had.

I like Jeanty, I think he's a great player but yeah......I need to see him do it against more than very good-elite team in a season to think he should get the Heisman.

Cause if he won it and then went on and got shut down by someone in the playoffs like how Bama used to do Fournette then we know what the talk would be.

I mean we've seen this before with QBs like Timmy Chang and the other dude at Hawaii that had a crazy year deserving of Heisman consideration but didn't have the schedules to justify it.
