Why they could be here: This is where the committee will have to decide between two- and three-loss teams in the playoff, but if it ranks two-loss teams ahead of one-loss teams, don't be surprised to see three-loss teams ahead of two-loss teams. The committee could certainly rank the Tide lower because they have two losses to unranked teams with at least four losses each (Vanderbilt and now Oklahoma). But the Tide still has one of the better wins against Georgia.
