I hate that Family Ties song. shyt might actually win too lol. Good for Nas getting two straight nominations. I don’t think they’ll give this one to him though

My prediction for Nas performance is that it’ll be a “co” performance with Hit-Boy, who is up for Producer Of The Year. Hit Boy will basically DJ the set. I think they’ll do a medley of songs from KD1-2 and Magic

My songs predictions

Ultra Black (First Verse)
Store Run (First Verse)
Wave Gods (with Flacko)

Alternatively

27 Summers (First Verse)
EPMD 2 (with both EMPD & Eminem)
Nobody (with Lauryn Hill) or My Bible

The reason I chose these songs is because they are all somewhat “Network TV” friendly with the minor curse words easily switched out.

Or he MIGHT want to do a “career retrospective” (which honestly I doubt) in which case we’d get

NY State Of Mind (first verse)
Hate Me Now (First verse and chorus with Diddy)
If I Ruled The World (With Lauryn)

Of the three the “career retrospective” is my least favorite because Nas core fans have seen these songs performed and the songs from the recent three album run are more fresh and haven’t been performed live. Also most Grammy nominees/performers see substantial boasts in their album sales after the ceremony and i’d like to see all three albums get the exposure they richly deserve.

Pitchfork says that Kanye West will win Best Rap Album but that Tyler SHOULD win

Best Rap Album
  • J. Cole - The Off-Season
  • Nas - King’s Disease II
  • Tyler, the Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost
  • Kanye West - Donda
Will win: Kanye West - Donda
Should win: Tyler, the Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost

Back in 2020, Tyler, the Creator’s Igorrightfully won the Grammy for Best Rap Album. It should happen again in 2022, for the equally ambitious Call Me If You Get Lost, but I have little faith in the institution. The big difference between 2020 and 2022 for Tyler: His fellow nominees represent a completely different beast this year. When he won last time, he beat Cordae, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, and a Dreamville compilation, but in 2022 his fight is with legacies: Nas, Kanye, Cole. (Drake would be there too if he hadn’t withdrawn the nomination for Certified Lover Boy.) Expect the Grammys to revert back to their comfort zone, like they always seem to do. –Alphonse Pierre

If they all think Tyler should win, then Tyler will probably win.

LA Times says that Nas deserves his nominations as recompense for being snubbed early in his career, but that Tyler will win Best Rap Album

Tyler’s LP is nominated in the rap album category, which doesn’t feel quite as off the mark this year as it has in the past. He’s up against Kanye, J. Cole and last year’s winner, Nas. Drake was in there too, until he requested his nomination be withdrawn, presumably as a protest against the Grammys’ fraught handling of hip-hop.

: Nas with the late-career surge because they didn’t give him his Grammys 25 years ago. These nominations are fine. Tyler’s gonna win, and he should.

Critics don’t like Nas, Nas shouldn’t be nominated cause he wasn’t 25 years ago he should be nominated because KD2 is a great album in its own right.

The one thing critics hate is a straight unassuming black legend who doesn’t pander to weirdo antics, who isn’t unhinged and it keeps it strictly hip hop, no thrills no bullshyt, a throw back to the days when black leaders were Malcolm x and MLK as opposed to the lgbt aligned BLM.

Tyler for all his talent and Kanye too are the perfect placeholders for white liberal media, they’re both more BLM than Malcolm x if that comparison works.

Variety says that Kanye West will win Best Rap Album

Rap Album:
Kanye West, “Donda”

Remember, voting closed before things got really nutty this year. And while it does seem like the DaBaby and Manson factors make Ye a hard sell in a general category, the hip-hop-centric voters that will choose to make this one of their categories may not be so focused on disqualifying factors — and West is far from being really canceled when it comes to home base. That said, if it is true, diehard hip-hop fans making their stand here, Tyler, the Creator would seem like a repeat winner in this category, with “Call Me If You Get Lost.” It feels close to a toss-up.

You don't have to attempt to dismiss Tyler or even Kanye to big up Nas, and I'm not sure what the "white liberal media" has to do with any of this. Critics don't like Nas...and yet he still won a Grammy last time in a rout. Voting on by a lot of media folks alongside industry people. And there's nothing on KD2 that challenges any "white liberal media" mentality, to the point they have to stop him. The man is performing at the Grammys and Kanye isn't...

The fact of the matter is Tyler released a great album and probably had the best album rollout since the pandemic. And while Cole, who critics also don't like, won't win he certainly deserves to win too. As long as Kanye doesn't win I'll be content.

The critics aren’t solely deciding who wins the Grammy so I don’t have any idea why you bought up that point. The articles that I quoted from @Ziggiy with their backhanded compliments is what prompt me to say that and Nas would be the first to tell you he isn’t loved by critics. Especially in regards to the likes of Kanye and Tyler who have got much love critically, Nas simply hasn’t got the critical praise he deserves since and possibly because of Illmatic, the fact that you point to his first Grammy in his illustrious 25 year career as evidence of the contrary says it all, Nas has one Grammy the same as Tyler the creator and one is in their 20’s while the other has been releasing classic albums before the other was even 5 years of age.

Kanye has 20+ Grammys by the way, the point about white liberal media is they push LGBt or lgbt aligned or eccentric off the wall and unhinged( so called creative) black men more than they do the straight edged normal street dude that Nas is, simple point.

Its always interesting to see which Rap categories they choose to televise and which are part of the pre-ceremony. Often that gives clues to who wins. When Best Rap Album is televised it usually means a big star won and when its not it means somebody NOT named Kanye, Eminem, or Kendrick won so we’ll see.

Either way i’m riding for Nas to win although i wouldn’t be too upset if Cole manages to pull it off ( he won’t). Tyler is whatever to me, i’ve never been a fan and Kanye winning would be a disgrace to Hip Hop

The same Kanye that wore a MAGA hat?
