More hated dynasty? Alabama or Miami?
80s Miami w/O a shred of doubt. One of the most hated dynasties/individual teams by year in all of sports…off top, the bad boys pistons, 80s Celtics, maybe Miami heat 2010-2014, 80s Georgetown hoops, were more hated or more polarizing (a whole separate thread might have to be done in this)
Bama is respected where Miami; especially in the 80s, was looked at as new blood and representative of the hip hop generation where white ppl and traditionalists resented their swagger and dgaf demeanor on and off the field. Especially when playing the old guard (ND, Nebraska, Penn State). There had never been swagger and disassociation from the establishment like that in sports (maybe since Ali) especially on the football field.
Saban and has players have demonstrated enough “class” to not be hated on by casual fans or white America.
Miami was not only just hated bc they won (ie Bama or Yankees) but for how the won and for who they won against, the old traditionalists.
