D.J. Uiagalelei’s #Clemson teammates are tired of hearing criticism of their QB. “There's plenty of film to show the guys surrounding him didn't hold up to our standards. It's been tough to hear, but that's one reason why I respect him so much.”
Uiagalelei was particularly bad in Clemson's three losses, combining to throw only two touchdowns against four interceptions while completing only 48.9% of his throws, which traveled an average of only 4.7 yards. "A lot of forced throws, trying to do a little too much," Uiaglelei said. "I had to clean up the accuracy and also get the feet underneath me."
Uiagalelei dropped 26 pounds in the offseason after playing at 260 pounds in 2021. The extra weight, he believes, slowed his progress last fall and affected his mobility. He is not in a competition to keep his job, but struggles early in the season can change Swinney's staunch narrative.

I mean it was him that was missing throws right. It was him that got that NIL deal right. So isnt the criticism fair. I understand you wanna stand up for your team mate but if they was the one messing up then its only so many excuses you can make for DJ

bro was playing at 260lbs last year.

He’s still young so no the criticism isn’t fair

DJ came in the same year as Bryce and had just as much hype. There's no excuse for how terrible he was last season. 9 TDs:10 INTs and 55% comp on 6 YPA is as bad as it gets especially with all that talent around him. Klubnik will be the starter next season

What Bryce did shouldn’t have anything to do with DJ they’re 2 different players. I’ve done seen Zach Mettenburger stunk it up his 1st year starting and the next year he’s a 5k yard passer, players do get better from year to year
