I think Mich reinvented themselves as a tough nosed football team, developing talent that has a chip on their shoulders and sprinkling in other blue chip talent. I was saying for years during the struggle period that they need to get back to being a team that is tough rather than a pretty team, and it's def worked. MSU moved away from being tough favoring the cutesy shyt and it just has NOT worked.
Because Bama and OSU are recruiting skill position talent at an absurd rate they kind of don’t have a choice but to recruit a more athletic defense they can play with the lead( less focused on stopping the run) and an offense that is pass first with big plays being the priority
The problem is when the offense isn’t scoring at will. It allows team to continue to run the ball and the defenses aren’t built to stop the run at all.
