But it fits tho…Luke has elevated 3/4 stars to pros, Wisconsin is the same kind of school. If they ever got a legit QB they’d be back in the mix in the BIG
Wisconsin very rarely has playmakers on defense though...that is significant

they keep a good line, one on par with michigan and osu, generally supiror to penn state, but those team have playmakers on defense. Harbaugh has had 6 all americans on defense since he's been there. Wisconsin has had 1 in the last 25 years.

All respect to Shaw. Always came off as a dignified, classy brother. Card likely won't see a stretch like that for a long time, especially in this new CFB environment.

Speaking of long-time alum coaches at smart schools, wonder what Pat Fitz is thinking. He was one of those hot names it seemed forever. Just had his 3rd 9+ L season out of the last 4. And now he's got to deal with Rhule (who's still a good CFB coach) and Fickell just in the B1G West alone.
Don't think Fitzgerald is tryna go anywhere. He's at his alma mater and seems comfortable. I could be wrong though, this new college football landscape might have a lot of coaches re-evaluating their situations.

We focus on QBs but if you don't have play makers on defense that can give QBs who are feeling it out or more importantly, developing, additional chances, you're stuck. That made the difference yesterday.

Defensive all americans coached (current school):

James Franklin - 1
Harbaugh - 5
Ryan Day - 3
Paul Cryst before he was fired at wisconsin - zero

all american is a high bar but its telling if your program never has any

At some point they'll need a program elevator to get around the big boys. Unless you're recruiting at an elite level those "good enough" QBs only take you but so far. If anyone should know that by now it's Wisky.

Also Fickell will have a easier time with Recruiting. Wisconsin under Chryst doesn't have a Recruiting department, but, Wisconsin is known for making Offensive Lineman. At Cincinnati, it's hard to recruit in Ohio, along with Michigan if he went to Michigan St. Here in Wisconsin, there is no other Wisconsin Football team at the D-1 level, it's just Wisconsin.

So all he needs to do is just keep bring on walk-ons and the Offensive Lineman and he will be fine.

Ain’t no probably

There were really some dumbass media people talking about dude would never get hired again :russ:

Only thing that matters in sports is the Ws and the Ls.

That whole jville situation turned folks off, but true indeed, he’s won so someone will give him a chance
I don’t know how anyone can say Will was a disappointment

What hurt Will the most is the philosophy of no longer recruiting big interior Dline man that can control the line of scrimmage
It was an ok season but not remotely what we expected
