I don’t mind it. Here’s my thing—Suggs just didn’t have a high enough ceiling and disappeared against UCLA in OT before making the big 3 (it was bad on some hot potato shyt)…then got shut down by Baylor in the national championship game. In both games in big moments he looked confused and deer in the headlights under ball pressure. But I still thought he was good enough to choose if you had other shot creators.

And with Barnes he’s the prototype next gen guy—perfect physical attributes, plays hard, smart, unselfish, leader and character guy who just lacks a jump shot. I actually think his potential ceiling is really high but it’s so far away from where he is now that it’s not certain he gets there. High boom or bust potential. But the quickest feet in the combine…maybe the best overall athlete in the draft.
