See Cohen couldn’t do that. He was pot committed just off buying the team, let alone trading for Lindor. This Lindor move was him needing to prove that shyt is gonna be different (he may be right)

That's a fair point. For better or worse, this is Lindor's team now. They gave him the same amount of money as Realmuto, Bauer, DJ and Ozuna combined. Put that on paper and tell me how most fans would rather allot those resources?

As previously mentioned, he couldn't do it. Would have been a horrible start to his tenure because he backed himself into a corner with the trade. Trading Rosario, Gimenez and two prospects to end up with Carrasco at the end of the season would have been a terrible look for the organization. The Mets didn't need to win in Year 1 especially with the shortstops available after the season. In a sense, he forced his own hand.
