I just wish these "unwritten" rules would follow their logic to the end. Why a home run on 3-1 is okay but one pitch earlier is not is just so stupid. And still what's most embarrassing isnt Tony La Russa at this point, it's the Twins for being offended. Take your ass whooping and not worry about a position players ERA and try and figure out a way to stop needing postion players to eat innings because your pitching staff stinks.

La Russa is a shythead unquestionably but tell me brehs,

what's the difference between this and a football team throwing go routes up 35 in the 4th quarter? Or a basketball team shooting 3s from the logo and throwing alley-oops up 40 with 5 minutes left?

There's "unwritten rules" in all sports for sportsmanship in a blowout, but the behind their enforcement in baseball makes them seem worse than they really are

generally, it doesn't really matter the score. If you swing at 3-0 you better be right, especially if the manager didn't green light you.
