Starting with runners on base in the 10th is silly. They should start that in the 12th inning instead. The other option would be to allow teams to juggle their lineup in extras to send out whoever they want. So if you're playing the Braves, they can send out Acuna, Ozuna and Freeman to start every extra frame.

I understand it to protect pitchers and not screw up the bullpen, but I dont see any benefit beyond that. Like @Regular_P said, institute that rule in the 12th inning or something.

Mlb has viewing issues, the longer it takes the less audience they have
I mean by the time it hits extra innings, I cant imagine a ratings fall off hurts MLB too much. I dont think its any make or break move to improve ratings

I’m a baseball head & honestly have no issues with it

Todays mlb hitters are behind the pitching ,mlb collectively hitting .234,on pace for most strikeouts in a season for the 14th straight year ,more k’s than hits so far already 3-4 no hitters in the 1st month. Games would still go 4-5 hours 15 something innings if they didn’t implement this rule. Is it really worth f’n up your pitching staff for one win? :usure:

when did it stop being worth it?

the pitching staff wouldn't be so fukked up if pitchers weren't trained to go short distances. That's some shyt that should be getting remedied now in the minors with these pitchers. All this "I can't let the pitcher see the lineup a third time over" nonsense is doing more damage to the pitchers. It's like asking Usain Bolt to train normally only for the race to be a marathon.
