If a city like, say, Detroit, could care less about a 7 seed Pistons team, why would they care about a 7 seed Tigers team? For all the talk about last season, the only real first round upset was probably Florida over Chicago. Everything else was chalk. So, sure, Philly would get excited the first 2 or 3 years they clinch the 8th seed and lose in 4 to the Dodgers in the first round or whatever. After that it would be the same look they had with the Evan Turner Sixers.

The whole point of a 162-game season is to determine who the best teams are. You want a bigger playoff then you minus whale run 60 game seasons every year
