Arizona and Colorado didn't stand a chance against the Giants and Dodgers. They beat the living hell out of them all year.

And this is why complaining about the playoff format falls on deaf ears. Are the Giants and Dodgers really THAT good or did they just beat up on 2 of the most uncompetitive teams in baseball for nearly a quarter of their schedule? Would they have both won 30+ games against Philly and New York? There are flaws to the system, but they shouldn't be determined by record anomalies caused by shytty divisional competition :manny:

Kinda see why they were both able to win over 100 games.

Both damn near killed teams with records below .500. Giants (72-27) played 100 games against teams below .500 and 99 for the Dodgers(71-29).

Astros had the best win % against teams with .500 and above. But the Yankees/Rays and Jays were tied for the most wins at 48. Of course their division is stacked with 4 90 game winners.

Where can I put 10,000 on the Cardinals tomorrow?

That's easy money... the Cardinals are anointed.

"Since 2000, the Giants, Dodgers, and Cardinals have made up 21/42 or 50% of all NLCS appearances. That percentage will hold through 2021 as one of those three franchises will make the NLCS."
