Except that the Astros were smart enough to also draft prep kids who had signability issues (like Jacob Nix for one) The Mets put all of thier eggs into one basket and basically made it a one man draft.

That's the type of shyt that can quickly close a contending teams window in a hurry due to lack of trade chips in the coming years.

I forgot what happen but Jacob Nix got paid but was never in the Astros system. I think the bonus was tied to Aiken and stuff got jacked up
