If either UGA or Bama gets in the playoffs the next SEC team, Kentucky, gets that slot regardless of the math. Plus a top 12 Group 5 team automatically gets in to, so all of those teams you listed dropping would put Coastal Carolina top 12.
—> You need Bama to lose again, or Cincy and CC to bottom out.
Edit: If a PAC 12 or Big 10 team makes the playoff, the next conference team will get in the Rose Bowl over Norte Dame. ACC gets in to (this is the one that’s really going to screw you)

From an academic standpoint, withdrawal deadline is mid October at most universities. You can essentially drop your course load without taking an academic penalty whereas if they waited a few days and then left, their transcript would have an I on it. For those who are transferring, this semester never existed.
Plus, you need to get a jump on spring ball. This is the time to be recruited. Our former WR is at Ole Miss on a recruiting trip.
