Schools cannot coordinate NIL opportunities for student athletes. That is not equivalent to a recruiting pitch of something that already exist and also not set up by the school.
Like idk how it is for every other state but FL can’t setup avenues towards deals before they’re enrolled

OU compliance is probably the strictest in the country, often to our detriment

I'm sure it's fine to mention.

:mindblown: No it isn't. Schools cannot do this. It's not fine just because you think OU wouldn't make this mistake.

No it isn’t. The Travis Hunter episode caused all of this because the MS law doesn’t have that language in it

Unless I missed it JSU did not publicly entice Hunter to commit to them because of possible future NIL deals. Now, were those things discussed through backdoor channels, yes, but none of us knew about the NIL deal he had until after he committed and signed with JSU. Williams is now in the portal, OU cannot entice him to recommit with future NIL deals. Not sure why they didn't have such in place already anyway. Big time schools serious about recruiting will now have staffs dedicated to scouting players they can steal from other schools and NIL will play a part in that. So these schools are going to have to be proactive in making sure their stars are taken care of.

Yea, you can tell who’s serious about this and who’s not. Clemson is creating an office in the athletic dept to deal exclusively with NIL and probably one of the reasons Miami hired their old AD. This is what folks wanted so when the gap grows bigger by the year, I don’t want to hear none of the moaning and bytching
