Hasek 1999 Cup run in Buffalo is comparable stats wise (Hasek stats are actually a tick better) but difference is that Bruins won and Sabres did not :manny:

I should have qualified it by saying that for a Stanley Cup winning team. I have absolutely no problem with anyone saying Hasek had one of the GOAT performances. His teams were ABSOLUTE TRASH!

Putting Tim Thomas aside, Hasek is my all-time favorite goalie. Very similar playing styles between the two as well. Hasek would have racked up even more hardware if he had been able to play in the NHL earlier in his career.

NHL.com had a top goalies list from various writers and Brodeur #1 and Hasek at #3. I was like :russ::mjlol: and this why I believe most hockey writers don’t know the sport beyond the basic stuff imo. Brodeur stats beyond wins and shutouts aren’t as impressive as they should be honestly. Meanwhile if Hasek played for Red Wings or Penguins in his prime he would not doubt GOAT because he would’ve won at least 3 Cups or more.

Hockey is one sports where you can't base a career on championships. There was nothing Hasek could do.

Miroslav Satan was that teams leading scorer with 66 points.:dead:.

I know a lot of people don't give Brodeur a ton of credit because of the defensive players and system he played in, but even putting that aside, the eye test shows you how dominant Hasek was. He was winning Vezina after Vezina on terrible teams.

For the big three back then, I'd go............

Hasek
Roy
Brodeur
