Well it just isn't normal circumstances. The shortened season I believe will minimize the highs and lows of a normal season and create more focus. Injuries are a factor but you don't have to be particularly deep now, just have a really solid core and solid gameplan. Plus with the extra inning rule and a DH, I think the Padres have a fighting chance.
If this was a full season I wouldn't have any faith in them but under these circumstances I think they'll do just fine. Their only problem is that I don't know if any of their pitchers are for real or not, which is obviously a huge question mark.
