I don’t want that many teams in the playoffs

then you become the Nba and NHL where the regular season is meaningless because more then half the league makes the playoffs

It's just gonna be for this season so they can get more games in. I like it because it's basically a throwaway season anyway.

For a league that wanted to emphasize the pennant race and not want teams to be on cruise control, making it so more than half the league gets in makes the regular season a waste of time.

That cruise time isn't gonna be more than a week, and teams are gonna need it given how few scheduled off days there are.

I mean going forward, because once this gets introduced, it's not gonna go away.
This is an entertainment business. MLB has fallen behind the NBA and NFL. NFL makes rule changes constantly. MLB needs to keep up with the times. Fewer playoff teams will mean less interest in the sport. Universal DH needs to happen next.

which is bullshyt considering the MLB postseason is nowhere near something that needs to be tinkered with.

How much interest would you have in watching the 162 games leading up to it when the Yankees and Dodgers know no matter what happens they'll somehow be in it? Even as good as they are now, if they don't win the division, they're a game away from being eliminated, so they gotta keep applying pressure. If keeping up with the times means "fukk the regular season," then you shouldn't be watching sports. It's like watching an action movie only to fast forward to the fight scenes.
