• Yeah, it's ridiculous. I understand that they may not like the record and everything else, but the personal hatred for him and the flat out lies are ridiculous. I know for a fact the HS coaches was the biggest factor in him getting fired. A major donor they are affiliated with was pushing for him to get fired and relayed the message that the coaches would not work with anymore and that he would no longer give funds. 60% of the boosters still wanted Lovie here. Chancellor Jones didn't give Whitman the ok until after the NW game. He was still in support of Lovie. The mob mentality is crazy here. Jeremy hasn't disputed anything I said. He never was a huge Lovie fan and I used to call him and Doug at Rivals out about it. It's all good. I'll post every now and then what I know whether they like it or not. On the 24/7 board a person who attends those coaching sessions the high school coaches hold commented that many of them felt that the Illinois staff didn’t have coaches they could “relate” too. The day Bielema was hired Whitman made sure he called the president of the IHSFCA.

Lovie thumbed his nose at them when he hired Ashton Washington to be the director of high school relations (a black woman from Texas, with no ties to any Illinois high school).

them cocksuckers, this really pisses me off because he actually brought good talent to that god forsaken program, and one donor was worried about the staff, i hope he chokes on his food, my complaint has always been lack of Chicago talent on Illinois teams, but maybe Lovie wanted it but had to play hardball to keep them off his ass, lovie smith put so many black coaches on because he knew the game was rigged, it’s so sad to see him go, hope he gets a job ASAP, i would say asu but as an Oregon fan also i don’t want him and herm forming up like a defensive voltron

Being a black college head coach in a P5 is the worst. You have to deal with the racist donors who have black workers as contractors and temps. They won't to see black coaches put their own on.
