Why the fukk would Cristobal leave Oregon for Auburn.....?

I mean I understood Taggart and his love for FSU, Plus FSU is a much better job than Auburn. But leaving Oregon for Auburn in 2020 is absolute dumbassery.

Because he wants to be back down south close to home. A couple hours flight from South Florida.

I think I'd rather have a defensive coach that can identify offensive coaching talent. Offenses get stale, and you really need to change it up after 3-4 years

Nah they need to go ahead and expand that list. Cristobal ain’t acceptable. nikka can’t even dominate the trash ass Pac 12 with multiple 5 stars. He can go back to FIU if he wants to be closer home in the south
:deadmanny: definitely no perfect candidate out there, and Cristobal having multiple seasons where a Pac 12 ring shoulda been a cake walk...then losing to unranked teams...eh:ld:

But I do love his program building, and I think he's the type of dude that aint getting boxed out by Dabo and Kirby's bush league recruiting tactics. The way he recruits the trenches would be the best Auburn ever seen too. I think he's high ceiling medium floor and Hugh is medium ceiling high floor. Most of my concerns with him are things he addressed in his last few years at OM, but there's def a "is this a potential Gus-lite" situation amongst the fanbase

MUCH better? :patrice: I think some Auburn fans overvalue this position, but FSU seems to have a more intrusive behind the scenes situation than even we do, plus they're cheaper. The football depth in Florida is deeper than it's ever been. Clemson got a longer lifespan on top than Alabama (assuming Dabo doesnt leave there to go to UA). I think the right hire would succeed there easier than he would here though

Cristobal a hell of a recruiter but he’s a glorified cheerleader. I’d rather have Hugh than him. He’s won wherever he’s went. He was just too sloppy with his cheating in the past.

Ha.

Good luck there.

Tuberville was not off on his analysis. He went to spread, but it was too early for Auburn. He picked the wrong coach too. He could see where the game was going.

Need another like him, but usually when head coaches get that check they lose some of that fire that made them good.
