Oh Darling wrote a book and in it he says Dykstra was yelling racial epithets at Oil Can Boyd before Game 3 of the 1986 WS. Darling says it rattled Boyd and helped the Mets win. Since this is out Dykstra is denying it and calling dude a liar, Strawberry says Darling is lying, Keith Hernandez said he heard Dykstra say something but not sure what, and Boyd himself says he didn't hear it. No one can corroborate Darling's account and it is not like this was the 1940s it was '86 plenty of cameras and people should have been around to back Darling up.

Not a Mets fan but Darling comes off as looking bad. Dykstra is a known scumbag but that's a pretty serious accusation to hurl at someone. I guess b/c of Dykstra's rep, Darling thought that no one would really side against him and question it. Nobody is out here defending Ron in public (he said people are texting him support) but you got a bunch of former Mets teammates defending Lenny in public. That says something. It doesn't help Ron either that he told some stories about Bob Murphy and Gary Carter that doesn't paint them in a good light. They're gone, what was the point?

Yeah, I think Darling is lying and being opportunistic. Lenny has a bad rep so he thought this would go unchallenged. No one would give him a book deal unless he said so e juicy shyt so he made up some stuff.

What stories about Bob Murphy and Kid did Ronnie tell?
Ron said he saw Gary's kids at outside of Gary's car in the Shea parking lot. The kids told Ron that Gary paid them to punch Gary's name in the ballots so he'd make the team. Ron said they had thousands of ballots.
Ron also said that Bob was passed out drunk in the locker room before a playoff game with the Astros. Had a team meeting around him like he wasn't there.

Got back to the office after having to go crosstown for a meeting. Ramos was their first hit of the day in the fifth inning? Wow. Does anyone think the short turn around had anything to do with their performance today? Nimmo is batting .087. At what point do we begin to get concerned? He hasn't looked right at the plate all season.
