The team is reminding me of the 2012 Oakland A's, I think they were quite buried at the all star break but managed to storm back to win the division on the last day of the season by having a major surge in the second half.

Sometimes that deadline deal sparks a team in the second half.

Yall remember Cespedes in 2015? That team was borderline .500 with a wack bullpen. Once he came on board the Mets took off.

Maybe this year it's the fact that the rotation has 5 dependable starters. That Stroman deal (and keeping Noah, Diaz, Wheeler) may be a spark for this team.

We'll see :manny:

The deadline changes this year are killer for us, if this was the old system we could toss a lottery pick for a 4th OF and maybe some BP help but we roll with what we got and see what we can do.

I think the fact they wanted to get rid of guys but couldn't kind of made the team bond together. This might be the best run I've watched in my nearly 30 years of fandom
