@O.iatlhawksfan @Silkk @dtownreppin214 :dead: LSU is FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY moving to a spread offense. Les Miles would still probably be at LSU if he had made this move.

Believe it when I see it.

The only team they even really need a spread for would be Bama.

And Texas too. Can't just run on them.

Y’all can hold on to the narrative that LSU still plays Les Miles ancient offense all y’all want, in reality them days are gone.

Ever year about this time these stories about how the offense looks awesome, and every year we come out in the fall toting the rock. It’s been that way forever. I’ve accepted it as a yearly publicity stunt.

Brehs, I just got put onto the fact that LSU hired a new Passing Game Coordinator this offseason. This is what's spurred the change in the offense:

Who started every game and got them to the title game?

If your team didn't at least make the elite 8 let alone the tournament at all then you can't discuss basketball :HeyMarlonSayCheese:
that cac double dribbled:MJCryShockedandscared:
My team made it to the terrific 32 though :brutuslol: . Me personally wouldn’t have called that double dribble that late in the game, play on

I’m not buying the Justin Fields hype.

He woulda beat out Fromm if he was a generational level talent like folks claim he is. Tua, Lawrence and others have won the job as true freshmen and Fields couldn’t do it :yeshrug:
This sounds ridiculous. First, Fromm is pretty much on everyone's top 5 draft pick lists next year. Hurts and Kelly Bryant aren't. Second, you assume that Fields didn't get the job because he wasn't better, even though many people said he was but the coaching staff just didn't put him in as the starter. By your logic, Haskins wasn't the real deal generational player because he couldn't take JT's job as a redshirt freshman. Maybe Georgia was comfortable with playing the same QB that was one OT pass away from winning the national championship the season prior.

Exactly. You can use this example for a few different scenarios. Tebow was one of the best CFB players of all time but he was never better than Cam. But there was no reason to replace Tebow. Jimbo even redshirted Jameis even tho Jameis was always college ready.

It’s true, honestly sometimes you can’t supplant the starter no matter how good you are, i do feel they wanted to stagger fields because they assumed Jake probably gone after this coming year, and then let him step into the lead qb, a lot of times programs lie to kids and have them think it’s one way, i also think he was under utilized, but I’m sure he’s going to thrive under Days offense

Yep, we can go through dozens of these scenarios. Point is, in most cases freshmen QBs do not start over a veteran incumbent no matter how good they are. Hell, maybe if Georgia made that move last year they could have beaten Bama like Clemson did. Not a guarantee, but the coaches not playing Fields certainly doesn't mean he wasn't good enough to do so.
