It’s *crickets* with the Buckeye fans right now. Take away that 89 yard TD catch on that prayer, and what would Fields’ stat line be?

I’ll let y’all do the math :sas1:

Even if Fields hadn't struggled, I'd choose Hurts based on the facts:

1. Hurts is a very experienced championship winning Senior QB vs. Fields who is an inexperienced Redshirt Freshman QB

2. Hurts will be playing an Air Raid offense vs. Fields playing in a Pro-spread offense.

:dwillhuh: Based on what we all watched last season, OU doesn't have enough talent on defense to try this strategy. Big 12 offenses will burn them alive trying this strategy. They're going to need to fix their defensive roster over multiple recruiting classes to be able to play like this.

Defense already sucked, they might as well try something different. But if they going to press all the time, then the D Line is gone have to get pressure constantly for it to work.

You had me at point one, point two, don’t sleep on Ryan Day and his offensive scheme

They might be gambling on throwing off the timing that a lot of big 12 offenses have, might work in their favor

I'm pretty sure a big reason tOSU switched their offense last year from Meyer's Power Spread offense to Ryan Day's Pro-Spread offense is because Dwayne Haskins is such an elite passer compared to the previous QBs Meyer had at tOSU and Dwayne Haskins isn't really a dual-threat QB. Seeing how Fields struggled at UGA & tOSU so far, he'd be better fit for Urban's offense.

I watched that West Virginia game and going off of that neither team could tackle. It was like before a basketball game where both teams are doing layup drills. I saw the same thing in the Alabama game. They looked better in the second half though. It wasn't the scheme it either the lack of talent and fundamentals. They just didn't have a good defense.
