White coaches continue to fail upwards. Get fired, go somewhere to be an analyst and steal checks and then get another HC job somewhere

Butch is a successful coach at that level. He's probably the best coach they could get. There's an added bonus that you don't have to worry about getting poached if the team has a winning season.

I mean it really was a fair question at the time. Wasn't like Burrow was lighting it up at OSU. That's like bringing in a highly talented/rated QB and pre 2019 Kyle Trask on the transfer market and you asking the same thing. Trask, like Burrow, was unknowns. Hindsight is 20/20 cause at the end of last year, nobody was on the Burrow train like that

I think that you still take the flier on having multiple 4 star QB's on your roster, ESPECIALLY in today's time where nikkas is hopping into the transfer portal like it's a New Orleans kickback. Plus, there's a reason why, down here at least, there were talks of it being a close contest between Haskins & Joe before he got injured.

That's true and with the style of offense they run at NU, having multiple QB's would have worked out cause they wouldn't have had to rush Martinez in last year (I think they lost like 2 other scholarship qb's last year when he was named the starter) and fukk up their depth chart. Not only that, you're right, while he was an unknown before last year, it wasn't like he was trash at OSU, just behind two of OSU's most successful qb's they've ever had

Heard there was talk of Tony Alford (osu asst to hc for offense/rb coach) being brought in, he’s a CSU alum and a brother, surprised Joey Porters name is up in the mix he’s been coaching
