Their schedule is backloaded

if they beat OU (twice?), TCU and Texas then they’re in

If they win out, it hurts the Big 12 which will be perceived as the 2nd weakest conference.

best wins

10-2 KSU
10-3 OU that lost to KSU (Baylor needs KSU to beat Texas so that’s a better win as well)
8-4 Texas (lost to Baylor and KSU)
6-6 TCU (2 more losses to OU and Baylor)

no out of conference P5 wins. 8 pt win against Rice.

Let’s not forget the close games they had against mediocre teams like WVU and Texas Tech.

That’s not a lock is what I’m saying. They need a lot more teams ahead of them to lose multiple times to jump them.

That’s a better resume than the ACC champ

Like op said a win over Texas and oh you gotta let them in
Nah, the potential undefeated P5 champs outside of the top 4 that would be a lock are Clemson and Minny. Baylor isn’t one of them.

Minny only is because their schedule is actually backloaded and if they win out, they would’ve beat

12-1 Ohio State (Would be #1 going into the Big 10 championship game)
10-2 Penn State
9-3 Wisconsin
8-4 Iowa

But even then, there would be a debate given Georgia Southern, Fresno St and Purdue played them tough.

Agreed on the resume, but if Clemson turns it up and finishes undefeated with a ranked Wake Forest and ranked Virginia (who would be 9-3 going into the ACC Chip), the committee will sneak them in. Baylor on the other hand doesn’t pass the eye test and advanced stats over a potential 11-1 Penn State, 13-0 Big 10 Champ OSU, 13-0 or 12-1 SEC Champ, 12-1 Bama/LSU, 12-1 Oregon/Utah.

Even if they win out, I see all of these teams being ranked higher than them. So #7 max.

A 12-1 OU Conference Champion has a better chance than a 13-0 Baylor imo. Baylor would be the UCF version of the P5 schools being the first undefeated P5 champ not to make the playoff and it would just add to the argument of CFP expansion.

Clemson is being punished because Trevor hasn't played that great and the ACC is down this year. We'll make it up in the Top 4 anyway. Bama up to this point hasn't had any kind of tough schedule either. I think Penn St. should be above them.

TYRONE GA!
They're not though. If that was the case, they would be ahead of 2 loss Florida and Auburn tonight.

Even with an extra data point (Big 12 champ), they wouldn't jump a lot of the 1 loss teams in other P5 conferences.

Believe that if you want.......

One loss Baylor then you are absolutely right. Undefeated? They getting in.

Dont matter because they'd have to beat Oklahoma twice to be undefeated... that ain't happening

Clemson loses anytime and it's over for them.

Oregon runs the table and they in good shape.

There is no way that Minnesota is doing that, but let’s say they did as do Baylor, baylor is a conference champ period they have to let an undefeated champ in

Clemson is not being punished...

I just feel the committe can look at their schedule and assume they will win out while at least two teams in front of them will lose...

Having that #4 next to Penn St going into Ohio St just increases ratings for that game.

2 and 3 play this week...it all works out

No different than ‘14. Is this committee doing this to setup rankings for the networks or are they trying to be close to right as humanly possible? I’m going with the former

All the rankings are at this point is to get people to watch the games. I can't ever trust a ranking system in football that relies on voting. Somebody will get the slight.
They probably got Ohio State right, but after that.... Ehhhh

"Game control" - 2014 narrative

:mjlol:

At least they're not insulting everybody's intelligence with some BS narrative. Simply seems like they're just trying to manufacture drama for each of these teams last 3 games.
