good teams don't need to wait on high risk lottery picks though. they can just buy a pick, role player, etc
a lot of these guys are gonna be in some shyt because a bad team is gonna put way more on them than they're ready for instead of doing a rookie a favor by giving them a clear, defined role. that kind of thing polishes up a nba skill that'll keep them in the league and also keep them on the court in a winning environment
for a guy like JJJ who couldn't even stay on the court in college and is crazy young.... how many lottery teams are really gonna be like "just do this"? they ain't got time for role players. they need franchise players and will develop kids for just that - they can be role players when they fail
He lost by taking his name out last year. He'll be a Caris LeVert type pick, hopefully he stays healthy.

Yeah the injury and his 3pt shooting taking a nosedive really submarined his stock.
If he's healthy I could see him having an Anunoby like impact if he lands in the right spot.
