The Big 12 has officially verified that Baylor has implemented all of its 105 Title IX recommendations following the sexual assault scandal that rocked the football program and school.
The good news for Baylor is the school is now in full compliance in the Big 12 and will be receiving full financial distributions going forward.
Baylor was also fined $2 million for "reputational damage to the conference and its members" from the 25 percent in conference distribution withheld from Baylor since February 2017 pending a review.
Baylor will have to pay $1.65 million in legal fees for the review, the Big 12 said.
approximately $12.6 million remaining in withheld funds will be invested for 48 months, the Big 12 said, with earnings distributed to campus members to be used "in funding campus-wide and athletics prevention efforts focused on sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking, including, but not limited to, programming addressing healthy relationships, LGBTQ+ discrimination, and bystander awareness."
